25% of ecommerce searches are for homeware goods
The top online retail searches in the UK this year was recently announced by Criteo, the performance marketing company. Their report highlighted:
- ‘Washing machine’ is the most searched for term
- Homeware items account for a 25% of all searches on 2017
- One in five searches were for furniture
- Omnichannel shopping is changing the face of retail; 52% of all ecommerce transactions in the UK now take place on mobile
In their research, it showed the ‘Washing Machine’ was the number one searched product online, which must be great news for online retailers like AO.COM.
Other popular searches included Desks in second place, Tables in fourth place and Toasters in fifth. I was surprised that kettles were not in the top ten.
On an interesting note, perishable items like Milk and Bread were in the top 20. This shows an exciting trend in the way buyers are purchasing everyday goods.
